Youth Arts Week
Venture into the World of Arts Tech

Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), Youth Arts Week of the 14th Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme was unveiled at today's opening ceremony at Y-Theatre, Youth Square, Chai Wan. Over 1,000 arts ambassadors from around 600 local primary, secondary and special schools took part in a hybrid mode (physical and online).

Themed "Arts Tech", Youth Arts Week has launched a series of online and offline arts activities in August for arts ambassadors. Selected programmes are open for participation of their friends and schoolmates as well as the general public, to enjoy the fun and endless possibilities of arts tech.

Presiding at the opening ceremony included Ms Yvonne Lam, Principal Education Officer (Curriculum Development); Dr Frankie Yeung, Vice Chairman of HKADC; Mr Andy Hei, Chairman of HKADC's Arts Promotion Committee and Chief Executive Ms Winsome Chow. The ceremony was also streamed online through Facebook Live for public appreciation.

The Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme
The Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme (AAiSS) organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is an arts promotion scheme for local schools. Since its launch in 2008, AAiSS has amassed an alumni of more than 15,000 ambassadors from primary, secondary and special schools who have demonstrated their artistic talents and potentials while inviting others to partake in the fun of creating the arts, living out the cooperative spirit of "Live in Art, Thrive in Sharing".

This year, in addition to the "Future Record Project" Arts Tech Exhibition, Youth Arts Week has invited various local artists and arts groups to offer an array of online and offline arts activities such as Handpan workshop, neon light designing, alcohol ink art, tap dance and craft-ligraphy to allow arts ambassadors to unleash their creativities.
