Local, Overseas & Mainland Arts Administration Scholarships 2023 Open for Application

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) has launched two scholarship schemes, namely “Local Arts Administration Scholarships 2023” and “Overseas & Mainland Arts Administration Scholarships 2023”, to support promising local arts administrators to pursue further studies in Hong Kong, the Mainland and abroad. In addition to broaden their horizons, the scholarship schemes will enable local arts administrators to develop professional network and acquire practical knowledge and skills that contribute to the sustainable development of Hong Kong arts sector. Both schemes are financially supported by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau.

“Local Arts Administration Scholarships 2023” targets to support arts administrators who have at least 2 years of paid arts administration work experience and wish to pursue arts administration related master courses/professional programmes or business administration related professional programmes at local universities or tertiary institutions. The intended study programmes must be one year or longer and commence within the period from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. Each scholarship will cover the tuition fees of the chosen programme with a maximum amount of HK$100,000 and estimated five scholarships will be awarded.

“Overseas & Mainland Arts Administration Scholarships 2023” is intended to support arts administrators who possess at least three years of paid work experience in the arts and cultural sector. Interested applicants can pursue taught master courses in relation to arts administration at accredited institutions in the Mainland or overseas. The intended study programmes must commence within the period from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024. The maximum value of each scholarship is HK$450,000 and the final value of the scholarship to be disbursed is subject to the chosen programme and the studying country / region of the selected applicant. The scholarship mainly covers the tuition fee of the selected applicant’s chosen programme, a round-trip flight ticket and subsistence allowance. Estimated five scholarships will be awarded.

Arts practitioners with vision on local arts development and are committed to contribute to the Hong Kong arts and cultural communities after their studies are welcome to submit their applications. For details, please refer to the guidelines and application form available at HKADC website: www.hkadc.org.hk or at the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong). Applicant must submit the duly completed application by email to [email protected], or deposit it in the collection box at the HKADC Administration Office, or by post to the HKADC Administration Office by 6:00pm on 10 February 2023 (Friday), Hong Kong time the latest. Applications submitted by post must be postmarked on or before the deadline. Please submit the applications via one of the above channels and do not submit in duplicate. Late submission or submission via fax and digital means other than the aforesaid email will not be processed.
