Nomination Exercise 2022 Polling Results

The exercise to nominate representatives of arts interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) 2022 ended today (24 October). Of 6,993 registered voters, 4,399 are available to vote for candidates in music, dance, drama, visual arts and arts administration. A total of 857 voters cast votes for their representatives. The voter turnout rate was 19.5 per cent.

The 2022 Nomination Exercise adopted an electronic approach, with the polling and vote-counting supervised by the HKADC and conducted in a fair, open and smooth manner. Ballots were immediately counted upon completion of polling at 1pm today.  The Council thanked the voters for their participation.  

The following candidates received the highest number of votes and were returned in the five contested arts interests:

Visual Arts Zhao Zhijun
Arts Administration Lee Yik Shuen

For arts interests having only one candidate standing for nomination, no polling was conducted for these forms and the following candidates were returned uncontested:

Lo Kwong Ping (Literary Arts)
Ma Chi Wai Vincent (alias Ma Chun Wai, Steven) (Film Arts)
Chan Suet Yi (Art Education)
Man Kit Wah Eva (Arts Criticism)
Lau Wai Ming (Chinese Opera Xiqu)

The list of ten nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next 3 years term commencing 1 January, 2023.
