HKADCSkip to contentNow in its twelfth year, Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates with the UK’s Clore Leadership Programme (CLP) to launch the “Hong Kong Scholarship on the Clore Leadership Programme 2021” (“the Scholarship”). The Scholarship aims to nurture arts management and creative talents of Hong Kong to become future leaders that contribute to the improvement and development of the arts sector and innovate for the greater good of the society. On top of the tailored professional development programme, the CLP will provide a range of new training initiatives to further develop the scholarship recipients’ leadership skills and international exposure, and to strengthen their competences to meet the challenges of our times.
The Scholarship will support a maximum of two outstanding, talented and experienced Hong Kong arts administrators to attend the CLP in 2021. The scholarship recipient(s) will be expected to dedicate approximately five months to the programme in the UK, which covers the following five key activities:

| March 2021 | (i) Attending an induction day in the UK, and engaging with Fellows of the CLP in the first leadership residential course for about 8 days |
| From End of May to September 2021 | (ii) Attending a series of intensive leadership training and a tailored programme of professional development, including professional skills workshop, tuition, mentoring and coaching; (iii) Taking part in a secondment in a culture institution in the UK for approximately 8 weeks or he/she can opt for a new work-based project; (iv) Participating in a new urban residential for about 2 to 3 days to interact with key civic and community partners, addressing critical local issues while being immersed in the real-time cultural challenges of a city/region; and (v) Attending the second leadership residential courses for about 5 to 6 days |
The total value of the Scholarship is £30,500 per award of which a bursary of up to £16,500 will be made available to each scholarship recipient to cover the cost of tuition and conference fees, accommodation, subsistence and airfares. The CLP will also cover the cost of accommodation, tuition and meals at the two leadership residential courses and attach to a mentor who is a senior figure in the UK cultural field. Interested practitioners should, however, understand that adjustment or even cancellation may have to be made under the influence of COVID-19 and/or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of HKADC and/or CLP.
The Scholarship was first launched in 2009 with the funding support from the Home Affairs Bureau. The scholarship recipients not only gain invaluable experience from the programme, but also benefit from learning directly from prominent arts practitioners in the UK. Interested practitioners are advised to refer to the guidelines and application form available at the HKADC website: www.hkadc.org.hk or the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong). Applicant must submit and deposit one set of completed application in the collection box at the HKADC Administration Office or email to [email protected] by 6:00pm on 7 October 2020 (Wednesday), Hong Kong time the latest. Applications submitted by post must be postmarked on or before the deadline. Please submit the applications via one of the above channels and do not submit in duplicate. Late submission or submission via fax and digital means other than email will not be processed.
