ADC Artspace (The Globe) Open for Leasing Application

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is pleased to launch the ADC Artspace (The Globe). In support of the local arts development, the Artspace is offering arts studios for artistic creation by local artists and arts organisations from all disciplines. Leasing application is now open.

Since the announcement of “Space Sharing Scheme for Youth” under the 2017 Policy Address, HKADC has worked closely with the Home Affairs Bureau to identify suitable properties and liaise with the landlords concerned on the provision of arts spaces at concessionary rates for local artists and arts organisations. Following the launch of two ADC Artspaces in Kwun Tong district in 2018, HKADC now introduces ADC Artspace (The Globe), a new arts space project in Lai Chi Kok this year. The project would not have been made possible without the generous sponsorship of Henderson Land Development Company Limited that leases the space at concessionary rate to HKADC and the funding support of the Home Affairs Bureau on daily operation costs.

The first tenancy of ADC Artspace (The Globe) will last for two years and ten months, commencing in November 2020. The monthly rental is HK$4.3 per sq. ft. and the current monthly management fee is HK$2.7 per sq. ft. HKADC will provide fitting-out allowance to approved tenants for carrying out basic fitting-out works of the leased units. Please refer to the Annex for more details.

HKADC first launched the ADC Artspace in 2014 and has so far launched four ADC Artspaces. The scheme has been well received by the arts community and has provided creative spaces at concessionary rates for more than 80 local arts organisations and units. Following the opening of ADC Artspace (The Globe) as well as other arts space projects under planning, we believe that more arts practitioners of various disciplines will be benefitted.

Interested artists and arts organisations can now obtain application guidelines and application form for ADC Artspace (The Globe) from the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) during office hours, or download these documents from HKADC’s website: www.hkadc.org.hk. Completed application (including application form, supplementary information and all supporting documents) must be deposited into the collection box located at the above address by 6:00pm on 29 July 2020 (Wednesday) the latest. Please mark “ADC Artspace (The Globe) – First Term Tenancy Application” on the envelope. Applications submitted by post will only be accepted if postmarked no later than the deadline. Submission by courier is also accepted if the pick-up date shown on the bill issued by the courier service provider is on or before the deadline.
