Hong Kong Arts Development Council Nomination Exercise Polling Results

The 2019 HKADC Nomination Exercise was successfully completed on 22 October. Of the 6,846 registered voters, 3,184 cast votes for their representatives. The voter turnout rate was 46.5 per cent.

The polling and vote-counting were supervised by HKADC and conducted in a fair, open and smooth manner. The Council thanked the voters for their active participation, and believed it reflects the ardent wish of all arts workers for the development of the arts in Hong Kong.

Ballots were immediately counted upon completion of polling at 9pm yesterday. The following seven candidates received the highest number of votes and were returned in the arts interests they ran in respectively:

Arts Interests Candidates Votes Received
Arts Education WU Chun Him 1,657
Drama LEE Chun Leung 1,312
Film Arts CHAN Wing San, Sunny 1,538
Literary Arts YAN Pat To 2,239
Music CHOW Pok Yin 2,119
Visual Arts CHAN Kam Shing, Chris 2,358
Chinese Opera (Xiqu) LAU Wai Ming 2,030

As there was only one candidate standing for nomination in each of the following three arts interests, no polling was conducted for these interests and the following candidates were returned uncontested:

Kwong Wai Lap (Arts Administration)
Lo Wai Luk (Arts Criticism)
Yeung Chun Kong, Daniel (Dance)

The list of nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term commencing 1 January 2020.
