2015 Overseas Training for Arts Administrators Thematic Study Visits Scheme Opens for Applications

With the funding support from Home Affairs Bureau, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) launches “2015 Overseas Training for Arts Administrators – Thematic Study Visits Scheme” to strengthen the trainings of local arts practitioners. The Scheme is now open for applications.

The Scheme supports experienced local personnel in arts administration/management for in-depth thematic study visits overseas in the next two years, to conduct cross-boundary/cross-discipline observations, interviews and analysis on a topic of his/her choice. Grantees have to consolidate the experience and knowledge gained, and the goals achieved under the Scheme, contributing to discussions and reflections on development strategies in affiliated organisations and the local arts field. Under the Scheme, “overseas” refers to regions outside Hong Kong, including different cities in the Mainland.

Application has to be submitted on an individual basis, detailing the objectives, needs, theme, proposed arts activities and schedule, etc. Applicants may participate in a combination of various arts activities to yield the best result from the Scheme. Grantees shall consolidate and publish what they have achieved upon completion of the visit to share their experience with the industry and the public. This will also serve as reference for the industry with an aim to foster professional growth and development of individuals and organisations as well as to enhance the overall arts development in Hong Kong. Each grantee can receive a maximum subsidy of $140,000 for the study visit, and a maximum subsidy of $20,000 for the subsequent publication.

Application forms can be obtained from the HKADC Administration Office or downloaded from HKADC website (www.hkadc.org.hk). Proposals (including the duly signed completed application forms, together with all supporting documents) should be deposited into the collection box located at HKADC Administration Office at 14/F, East Warwick House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Hong Kong, by 6:30pm on 23 June 2015 (Tuesday). The envelope should be marked “2015 Overseas Training for Arts Administrators - Thematic Study Visits Scheme”. Applications submitted by post will only be accepted if postmarked no later than the deadline.
