Behavioural Study on Arts Participants: Stage 2 – Focus Group Report

With the support of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the “Behavioural Study on Arts Participants” was carried out in three stages. HKADC had released research results of the first stage in 2021. Interested readers can click in the link below to know about the alternative modes of arts participation during the COVID-19 outbreak: https://bit.ly/3CMP7dQ

The second stage of the study took place in 2022 when performing and exhibition venues reopened after the COVID-19 epidemic. By conducting 10 focus groups, HKADC targeted to take a deep dive into audience’s prior consideration in participating arts activities. The findings from audience’s perspective cover “good show/exhibition” criteria, perceptions and expectations on different art genres of activities, responses to different promotional posters, and opinions on arts-tech application / other new trends. It is hoped that these findings can provide references to the local art groups / arts practitioners for better audience building/ engagement after the epidemic.
