(For applications received between 4 January 2023 and 30 June 2023)

HKADC received 326 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 127 grants totaling $18,783,600, ranging in size from $8,200 to $494,300. In general, the success rate is 39%. Below are the reports of various art forms.

Music

38 applications were received and out of them, 25 applications were processed. 10 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 10 applications (including 8 performances, 1 arts education projects, and 1 emerging artists scheme application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,796,400. The success rate is 40%.

Dance

11 applications were received and out of them, 10 applications were processed. 12 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 7 applications (including 3 performances, 2 arts education/community arts development projects, 1 publication project and 1 emerging artists scheme application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,261,600. The success rate is 70%.

Drama

25 applications were received and out of them, 20 applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 6 performances, 1 audience building project and 1 emerging artists scheme application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,813,500. The success rate is 40%.

Xiqu

20 applications were received and out of them, 17 applications were processed. 11 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 13 applications (including 5 performances, 3 arts education and promotion project and 5 Xiqu Professional Training Pilot Scheme projects) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,319,600. The success rate is 76%.

Visual Arts

65 applications were received and out of them, 52 applications were processed. 19 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 22 applications (including 11 exhibitions, 6 research/archival/critique/publication projects, 3 audience building projects and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,886,300. The success rate is 42%.

Film and Media Arts

42 applications were received and out of them, 36 applications were processed. 15 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 10 applications (including 3 film production projects, 2 media arts creation projects, 2 arts education/promotion and arts audience building projects, and 3 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,464,500. The success rate is 28%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts

29 applications were received and out of them, 26 applications were processed. 25 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 7 applications (including 5 exhibitions, 1 arts education/promotion project, and 1 media arts production project) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,046,900. The success rate is 27%.

Literary Arts

37 applications were received and out of them, 30 applications were processed. 24 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 20 applications (including 14 publications, 4 arts education/community arts projects, 1 creative writing project and 1 translation project) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,479,000. The success rate is 67%.

Cultural Exchange Grant

59 Cultural Exchange applications were received (10 Trial version applications and 49 General version applications), and out of them, 46 applications were processed (6 Trial version applications and 40 General version applications). 23 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 30 applications (including 5 Trial version, 25 General version) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $5,715,800. The success rate of Trial version is 83% while the success rate of General version is 63%.
