HKADC received 334 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 144 grants totaling $23,608,500, ranging in size from $13,000 to $494,000. In general, the success rate is 43%. Below are the reports of various art forms.
Music
34 applications were received and out of them, 25 applications were processed. 14 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 14 applications (including 5 performances, 3 arts education projects, 4 publications and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,380,000. The success rate is 56%.
Dance
25 applications were received and out of them, 24 applications were processed. 18 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 3 performances, 2 arts education and promotion projects and 3 Dance Arts Education/Research Collation Grant projects) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,402,400. The success rate is 33%.
Drama
24 applications were received and out of them, 20 applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 9 applications (including 8 performances and 1 emerging artists scheme application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,447,000. The success rate is 45%.
Xiqu
27 applications were received and all applications were processed. 9 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 4 performances, 1 arts education and promotion project and 3 Xiqu Professional Training Pilot Scheme projects) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,252,600. The success rate is 30%.
Visual Arts
70 applications were received and out of them, 61 applications were processed. 27 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 21 applications (including 9 exhibitions, 7 research/archival/critique/publication projects, 1 audience building project and 4 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,026,300. The success rate is 34%.
Film and Media Arts
39 applications were received and out of them, 36 applications were processed. 15 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 21 applications (including 5 film production projects, 2 media arts creation projects, 3 publication projects, 5 film/media arts audience building projects and 6 film emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $5,285,200. The success rate is 58%.
Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
21 applications were received and out of them, 19 applications were processed. 19 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 1 exhibition, 2 arts promotion/community arts projects, 1 performance and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,133,800. The success rate is 32%.
Literary Arts
43 applications were received and out of them, 41 applications were processed. 43 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 21 applications (including 12 publications, 3 arts education/community arts projects, 2 creative writing projects, 2 translation projects and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,692,100. The success rate is 51%.
Cultural Exchange Grant
51 Cultural Exchange applications were received (11 Trial version applications and 40 General version applications), and out of them, 40 applications were processed (7 Trial version applications and 33 General version applications). 7 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 36 applications (including 6 Trial version, 30 General version) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $5,989,100. The success rate of Trial version is 86% while the success rate of General version is 91%.
