Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 1 July 2021 and 31 December 2021)

HKADC received 309 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 118 grants totaling $17,901,500, ranging in size from $12,000 to $613,000. In general, the success rate is 38 %. Below are the reports of various art forms.

Music
43 applications were received and out of them, 42 applications were processed. 20 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 4 performances and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,151,600. The success rate is 14%.

Dance
21 applications were received and out of them, 19 applications were processed. 12 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 9 applications (including 2 performances, 5 arts education/promotion projects and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,768,700. The success rate is 47%.

Drama
23 applications were received and out of them, 22 applications were processed. 7 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 11 applications (including 3 performances, 1 arts education project, 1 publication, 1 playwriting project, 1 Drama Artistic Creation Experiment and Research Scheme project and 4 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,471,500. The success rate is 50%.

Xiqu
24 applications were received and out of them, 23 applications were processed. 13 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 7 applications (including 4 arts education and promotion projects, 2 research/archival/publication projects and 1 Xiqu Professional Training Pilot Scheme project) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,175,900. The success rate is 30%.

Visual Arts
70 applications were received and out of them, 65 applications were processed. 23 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 22 applications (including 11 exhibitions, 4 research/archival/critique/publication projects, 2 audience building projects and 5 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,510,100. The success rate is 34%.

Film and Media Arts
28 applications were received and out of them, 26 applications were processed. 15 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 15 applications (including 5 film production projects, 2 media arts creation projects, 1 publication project, 5 film/media arts audience building projects and 2 media arts emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $3,513,000. The success rate is 58%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
21 applications were received and out of them, 20 applications were processed. 20 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 1 publication, 2 exhibitions, 1 arts promotion/community arts project, 1 arts education project and 1 emerging artists scheme application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,195,400. The success rate is 30%.

Literary Arts
49 applications were received and out of them, 42 applications were processed. 42 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications. 

In the end, a total of 20 applications (including 13 publications, 1 research/archiving/critique project, 5 arts promotion/community arts projects and 1 emerging artists scheme application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of 1,671,000. The success rate is 48%. 

Cultural Exchange Grant
30 Cultural Exchange applications were received (6 Trial version applications and 24 General version applications), and out of them, 29 applications were processed (5 Trial version applications and 24 General version applications). 6 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 22 applications (including 3 Trial version, 19 General version) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $4,444,300. The success rate of Trial version is 60%, while the success rate of General version is 79%.
