Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 1 January 2014 to 30 June 2014)

HKADC received 275 project grant applications from 1 January 2014 and 30 June 2014, the grant amount sought was $39,037,266. HKADC invited professionals in the arts field to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications worth supporting through rigid adjudication procedures. Below are the project grant adjudication reports of various artforms.

Music
29 music applications were received and out of them, 28 applications were processed. 21 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 16 applications (including 5 performance, 5 arts education and promotion, 2 general cultural exchange, 1 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao and 3 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,292,700. The success rate is 57%.

Dance
22 dance applications were received and out of them, 19 applications were processed. 17 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 1 performance, 1 arts education and promotion, 4 general cultural exchange and 2 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $982,950. The success rate is 42%.

Drama
38 drama applications were received and out of them, 34 applications were processed. 13 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 23 applications (including 3 performance, 6 arts education and promotion, 1 publication, 10 emerging artists scheme, 1 general cultural exchange and 2 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,731,300. The success rate is 68%.

Xiqu
13 Xiqu applications were received and processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 11 applications (including 2 performance, 4 arts education and promotion, 2 research/archival and 3 publication projects) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $978,800. The success rate is 85%.

Literary Arts
43 literary arts applications between 1 Jan 2014 and 30 June 2014 were received. Out of them, 41 applications were processed. 28 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications. In this round of applications, 35 applications belong to publication, the rest of applications include 1 creative writing, 1 arts education, 2 arts community promotion, 1 research/critique and 1 general cultural exchange applications.

In the end, a total of 28 applications were supported by the HKADC, including 24 publications, 1 creative writing, 1 arts education, 1 arts community promotion and 1 general cultural exchange. Over half of the grantees of the publication projects, including experienced writers, scholars and budding writers have had their works previously published. The total grant amount is $929,400 with the success rate 68%.

Visual Arts
76 visual arts applications were received and out of them, 67 applications were processed. 41 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 29 applications were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $2,323,600. These supported applications include 3 emerging artists scheme and 5 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications. The success rate is 43%.

Film and Media Arts
A total of 33 film and media arts applications were received in which 30 applications were processed, including 24 film and 6 media arts applications. 18 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 16 applications (including 5 film production, 5 film arts education and promotion activity, 1 media arts community promotion activity, 1 film emerging artists scheme and 2 media arts general cultural exchange and 2 research/archival/critique projects were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $3,251,900. The success rate is 53%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
21 applications belonging to cross/multi-disciplinary arts were received and out of them, 17 applications were processed. There were 26 examiners invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 5 applications (including 1 performance, 1 arts education and promotion and 3 general cultural exchange applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $416,200. The success rate is 29%.
