! Useful hints on making an application
We have received a complaint recently concerning the requirement to submit 6 copies of reference materials together with the HKADC project grant application. The complainant felt that this requirement is a waste of paper and certainly is not environmental friendly.

When submitting an HKADC application, the HKADC very often would request applicants to support their applications with certain type of reference such as the full manuscript for a literary arts publication application or past records of the applicant’s works. The requirement is to facilitate HKADC examiners to have a clearer understanding of the content of the proposed project and track record of the applicant. As there will be 3 to 7 examiners involving in the adjudication of every application, HKADC will specify in the application guidelines the number of copies of supporting materials needed for the examiners’ reference during the adjudication process.

HKADC supports conservation of resources, and does not encourage applicants to submit more information than required. As a means to save paper, HKADC also welcomes and encourages applicants to submit the required reference materials in CD-Rom format.

If the applicant is an organization and already has an organisation website, HKADC welcomes applicants to provide the website addresses to HKADC in the application so that HKADC examiners can browse through the website to understand the background of the applicant organization directly rather than through printed copies of publicity leaflets.

HKADC will continue to devise other ways to conserve our valuable natural resources.
