To assist Hong Kong artists in expanding into overseas markets and establishing international connections, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (“HKADC”) participated in Classical:NEXT, a music expo held at Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in the past two consecutive years to promote Hong Kong’s outstanding artists and works to global professionals. HKADC intends to participate in Classical:NEXT 2020 again and was invited by Classical:NEXT to be the presenter of its key event – the First Night Celebration which serves as the official opening event of Classical:NEXT with about 1,300 international guests attending. HKADC now calls for eligible Hong Kong music practitioners/organisations to submit applications for “First Night Celebration’s Programme Planning and Production”.
The successful applicant shall plan, coordinate and produce the above-mentioned First Night Celebration in the format of a concert event (around 45 minutes) on 18 May 2020 for HKADC and Classical:NEXT 2020, and HKADC will provide the successful applicant with a grant to support expenses such as the production cost, remuneration of artists and production crew, air tickets between Hong Kong and the Netherlands, accommodation, local transportation and meal allowances in Rotterdam, event and travel insurance, rental of rehearsal venues (in Hong Kong), freight charges and rental of equipment, design and printing of programme leaflets and auditing fees.
