Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s Response to "The Hong Kong Drama Awards" Funding Issue (Supplementary - 19/1/2024)

In light of media and community concerns on the funding adjustment to the Hong Kong Drama Awards, Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) would like to further supplement the following:

As a government-funded statutory body, HKADC is dedicated to support and encourage local arts groups and practitioners for diversified development through a variety of funding schemes. A well-established mechanism is deployed to assess applications of grants including Year Grant and Project Grant as well as to monitor all funded projects. All funding recommendations are discussed and reviewed by the Arts Support Committee of HKADC and endorsed by the Council. HKADC will take action if there is any inappropriate content and arrangement found in funded projects.

HKADC places great importance on communicating with the arts sector. It always strives to maintain a good communicative relationship of mutual trust with both grant applicants and grantees through various means such as phone calls, emails, letters and meetings.
