Nomination Guidelines

The Award scheme’s target participants include local arts practitioners and arts groups; as well as individuals and groups / organisations that actively support the arts development in Hong Kong.
“Artist of the Year”, “Award for Young Artist”, “Award for Arts Education in Schools”, “Award for Arts Promotion and Education” and “Award for Arts Sponsorship” are open for nominations.
Each individual / group / organisation must be nominated by at least one nominator (in his / her personal capacity or on behalf of an organisation) in order to compete for an award. Self-nomination will not be accepted.
There is no upper limit on the number of nominators.
Nominators must obtain prior consent from the nominees before submitting nominations.
Names of the nominees (individual / group / organisation) on the nomination form will be the final recipients of the awards; names of the award recipients cannot be changed.
Nominators and nominees must abide by HKADC’s final decision.

Enrolment and Deadline

Each award has its own guidelines and nomination form, which specify its eligibility and assessment criteria. Nominators and nominees MUST read all the relevant information carefully and complete the appropriate forms.
Nomination forms are now available at:

- the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards Online Nomination System (Online Nomination System) ;

- the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong, will be relocated to 5/F, Landmark South, 39 Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong starting from September 15, 2023 (Friday));

- the HKADC’s website.
HKADC accepts photocopies of valid nomination forms, but will not accept replicas.
The deadline for submission is 6pm on 27 October 2023 (Friday).
Completed nomination forms and supporting documents must be submitted by the specified deadline via one of the following means:

- by using the Online Nomination System;

- by depositing into the collection box located at HKADC Administration Office;

- by post (will be accepted only if they are postmarked no later than the deadline).
Late submissions and submissions sent by fax / email will not be accepted. HKADC will not consider supplementary information submitted after the deadline.
Nomination forms and all attachments submitted in person or by post must be submitted to HKADC in a sealed envelope marked with the name of the relevant award. For example: “Artist of the Year”.
Information provided on forms and supporting documents will be kept confidential.

Announcement of Results and Prize Presentation

Award winners and their nominators will be notified of the results by post in April and May 2024. HKADC will hold the awards presentation ceremony in May or June 2024. Noteworthy guests from the arts community and society will be invited to attend this function. The winners will receive their awards in person during the ceremony.
All award winners will receive trophies in their respective categories, while recipients of “Artist of the Year” and the “Award for Young Artist” will each receive an additional cash award of HK$50,000 and HK$25,000 respectively for supporting their creative work, arts projects or further studies.
Unsuccessful nominees will also receive notification in April and May 2024.
