Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates again with Sage Gateshead, renowned centre for music education, performance and conference in the UK to launch the ‘Sage Gateshead Internships 2016’. The Programme provides an internship opportunity to local experienced arts practitioners with potential to further develop their professional skills and network. It is now open for application.

The Programme will offer two 12-week internship places on a full-time basis from January to March 2017 in Sage Gateshead. The interns will gain in-depth, hands-on experience and knowledge in areas of venue management, marketing and audience development, artistic programming and management, festival programming, learning and participation, fund raising and development, cultural and arts policy. Visits and meetings with key members of staff in the organisations under the Newcastle Gateshead Cultural Venues network will be organised for the interns by Sage Gateshead in order to broaden their horizon. A bursary of £9,500 will be provided to each selected candidate as an allowance for a round trip air ticket, accommodation, transportation and subsistence during the placement period.

The said Programme is part of the Arts Administrators’ Training Projects which are supported by the Home Affairs Bureau. The Projects aim at supporting local arts practitioners with different degree of experience to receive professional training in order to nurture future arts and cultural professionals in Hong Kong and to meet the growing needs of arts talents.
