Professional Attachment at OzAsia Festival 2019 Open for Application

Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates with Adelaide Festival Centre (AFC) of Australia for the fourth time to launch the ‘Professional Attachment at OzAsia Festival 2019’. The Attachment provides an opportunity to local arts practitioners and producers with potentials to further develop their professional skills and network. It is now open for application.

‘Professional Attachment at OzAsia Festival 2019’ will offer one attachment place for about 24 weeks on a full-time basis from June to mid-November 2019 at the AFC. The actual placement period will be finalised between the selected candidate and the AFC. The selected candidate will mainly participate in festival coordination, artistic programme planning, production, media marketing and promotion of the OzAsia Festival 2019. With the help of the AFC, the selected candidate will also have the chance to visit other cultural institutes in order to enrich his/her attachment experience. A bursary of HK$228,000 will be provided for the successful candidate to cover accommodation, transportation, subsistence during the placement period and one economy class return flight ticket.

The said Attachment is part of the Arts Administrators’ Training Programmes supported by the Home Affairs Bureau. The Programmes aim at supporting local arts practitioners with different degree of experience to receive professional training in order to nurture future arts and cultural professionals in Hong Kong and to meet the growing needs of arts talents.

Applications must be submitted and deposited in the collection box at the HKADC Administration Office by 6:00pm on 20 December 2018 (Thursday) the latest. About OzAsia Festival
Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre since 2007, the OzAsia Festival has been Australia’s leading international arts festival featuring various programmes from Asian countries, including India, Korea, China, Japan and Malaysia etc. The Festival attracts Australian and Asian performers and tourists to gather at Adelaide. The OzAsia Festival 2019 will be held from 17 October to 3 November 2019.

The activities of the Festival are in a wide spectrum. The 2018 Festival features work from artists from 20 countries to showcase 439 activities, including more than 250 scheduled performances, 55 talk events, 34 film screenings, 8 exhibitions and 66 workshops. More than 800 artists will participate in the festival, attracting approximately 200,000 people to attend. HKADC supported Hong Kong artists to participate the Festival since 2016.
