Music and Dance Distinguished Performance Commendation Scheme (Pilot Scheme) – Open for Application

To encourage the outstanding and potential local artists to participate in and demonstrate their distinguished artistic accomplishments in the worldwide recognised high-level Music and Dance competition, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is currently launching Music and Dance Distinguished Performance Commendation Scheme (Pilot Scheme). Through artistic exchange and honing skills in high-level competition, artists could broaden their experiences, horizons and international networks. HKADC will commend artists who achieve outstanding results in the recognised competition with cash award, as well as introducing their accomplishments to the public. Promotion or media activities will be arranged by HKADC for the artists being awarded, to promote the local distinguished artists to the community.

HKADC will commend eligible applicants who advance to semi-finals or above in the recognised competition with a cash award according to their competition results. The cash award is divided into 5 levels ranging from $25,000 to $150,000.

Eligibility:

Individual applicant only. Applicants must be HKSAR permanent residents holding HKSAR passport, and to participate in the competition as individuals from Hong Kong, China

  •  

The competition should be a competition event for individuals

  •  

No age limit, but a Guardian Approval Form signed by a guardian should be provided if the applicant has not reached the age of 18 at the time of application

 
Application Date:
Application for the Scheme is accepted all year round until further notice. The application has to be submitted to HKADC after the applicant submits the competition application and at least three months before the arrival date as requested by the organiser of the competition.
 
How to Apply:
Applicant can submit completed application form and all required documents and information via email, by post or by hand.
 

Application Processing Flow Chart:

Submission of Application

  • Applicant should fill in the relevant application form and submit it together with all required documents and information to HKADC on or before the deadline.

Process Application

  • To assess whether the competition to be participated by the applicant meets the criteria for support under the Scheme.

Notification of Result

  • Approved applicant will receive an Approval-in-Principle Notification that states the amount of cash award in principle, the conditions for award disbursement (“Conditions for Award Disbursement”)and the content of Application Guideline.
  • Approved applicant is required to return the signed Approval-in-Principle Notification Reply Slip within two weeks after the issuance of the Approval-in-Principle Notification.

Approved Applicant Participates in Competition, and Achieve Required Result

  • Approved applicant is required to provide documentary proof of competition results, an article for sharing and photographs of the competition to HKADC for promotional and publicity work within one month from the date of announcement of competition results by the organiser of the competition.
Award Disbursement
  • If competition results and the Conditions for Award Disbursement are met, the award will be disbursed to the approved applicant within two months.
