Despite that two facilities West Kowloon FreeSpace and Tai Po Arts Centre commenced operation in year 2019/20*, some arts and cultural facilities were temporary closed during the social events in the second half of 2019, and followed by the coronavirus outbreak in early 2020. This led to a significant drop in both numbers of programmes and performances, attendance as well as box income in 2019/20. The figures are as follows:

*The number of programmes in 2019/20 is based on programmes held in 29 arts and cultural facilities during the financial year from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. Hong Kong Coliseum, Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, AsiaWorld-Expo, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, etc are not included in the 29 arts and cultural facilities.
