HKADC received 358 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 134 grants totaling $18,763,100, ranging in size from $17,200 to $499,800. In general, the success rate is 37 %. Below are the reports of various art forms.
Music
36 applications were received and out of them, 34 applications were processed. 17 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 4 performances, 1 arts education project, 1 arts promotion/community arts project and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,526,300. The success rate is 24%.
Dance
17 applications were received and out of them, 13 applications were processed. 10 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 7 applications (including 2 performances, 2 arts education projects, 2 Arts Education/Research Collation Grant projects and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,269,500. The success rate is 54%.
Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
29 applications were received and out of them, 28 applications were processed. 21 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 7 applications (including 1 publication, 1 performance, 1 exhibition, 3 arts promotion / community arts projects and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,075,600. The success rate is 25%.
Xiqu
37 applications were received and all applications were processed. 16 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 14 applications (including 1 performance, 4 arts education and promotion projects, 2 publications and 7 Xiqu Professional Training Pilot Scheme projects) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,508,400. The success rate is 38%.
Drama
19 applications were received and out of them, 15 applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 10 applications (including 6 performances, 2 arts education projects, 1 publication and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,743,700. The success rate is 67%.
Literary Arts
50 applications were received and out of them, 47 applications were processed. 44 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 29 applications (including 23 publications, 2 creative writing projects, 1 translation project, 1 research/archiving/critique project, 1 arts education/arts promotion/community arts project and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,609,300. The success rate is 62%.
Film and Media Arts
49 applications were received and out of them, 41 applications were processed. 11 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 15 applications (including 3 film production, 3 media arts creation projects, 2 publications, 5 audience building projects, 1 film emerging artist scheme and 1 media arts emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $3,930,100. The success rate is 37%.
Visual Arts
88 applications were received and out of them, 79 applications were processed. 19 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 21 applications (including 11 exhibitions, 4 research/archival/critique/publication projects, 1 audience building project and 5 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,789,200. The success rate is 27%.
Cultural Exchange Grant
33 Cultural Exchange applications were received (3 Trial version applications and 30 General version applications), and out of them, 32 applications were processed (3 Trial version applications and 29 General version applications). 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.
In the end, a total of 23 applications (including 2 Trial version, 21 General version) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $4,311,000. The success rate of Trial version is 67%, while the success rate of General version is 73%.
