Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 1 January 2020 and 30 June 2020)

HKADC received 422 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 148 grants totaling $21,373,400, ranging in size from $5,700 to $643,600. In general, the success rate is 35 %. Below are the reports of various art forms.

Music
36 applications were received and out of them, 35 applications were processed. 23 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 16 applications (including 5 performances, 3 art education and promotion, 1 research/archive/publication and 7 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,825,900. The success rate is 46%.

Dance
13 applications were received and out of them, 11 applications were processed. 13 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 5 applications (including 2 performances, 2 arts education/promotion and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,078,800. The success rate is 45%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
40 applications were received and out of them, 38 applications were processed. 27 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 2 performances, 1 community arts promotion, 1 publication and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,143,600. The success rate is 16%.

Xiqu
16 applications were received and out of them, all applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 7 performances and 1 arts education application) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,128,600. The success rate is 50%.

Drama
25 applications were received and out of them, 23 applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 10 applications (including 4 performances, 3 research/archival/critique/publication projects and 3 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,239,500. The success rate is 43%.

Literary Arts
69 applications were received and out of them, 65 applications were processed. 48 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 18 applications (including 12 publication, 3 arts education / arts promotion/community arts, 1 research/archival/critique, 1 translation and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of 1,734,700. The success rate is 28%.

Film and Media Arts
49 applications were received and out of them, 48 applications were processed. 15 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 12 applications (including 4 film production, 3 audience building projects, 2 media arts creation, 2 film emerging artists scheme and 1 media arts emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,938,000. The success rate is 25%.

Visual Arts
86 applications were received and out of them, 81 applications were processed. 25 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 30 applications (including 14 exhibitions, 6 research/ archival/ critique/ publication projects, 3 audience building projects and 7 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,640,300. The success rate is 37%.

Cultural Exchange Grant
88 Cultural Exchange applications were received (9 Trial version applications and 79 General version applications), and out of them, 65 applications were processed (9 Trial version applications and 56 General version applications). 7 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 43 applications (including 9 Trial version and 34 General version applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $6,644,000. The success rate of Trial version is 100%, while the success rate of General version is 61%.
