Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 3 July 2019 and 31 Dec 2019)

HKADC received 368 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 154 grants totaling $20,097,100, ranging in size from $7,700 to $500,000. In general, the success rate is 42%. Below are the reports of various art forms.

Music
29 applications were received and out of them, 25 applications were processed. 14 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 13 applications (including 8 performances, 1 art education and promotion, 2 research/archive/publication and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,683,600. The success rate is 52%.

Dance
21 applications were received and out of them, 17 applications were processed. 14 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 5 applications (including 3 performances and 2 arts education and promotion applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,222,400. The success rate is 29%.

Drama
16 applications were received and out of them, 14 applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 12 applications (including 6 performances, 2 community arts promotion, 2 publications, 1 playwriting, and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,863,700. The success rate is 86%.

Xiqu
13 applications were received and out of them, all applications were processed. 6 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 3 performances, 2 arts education, 2 arts education/ promotion and 1 publication applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,037,800. The success rate is 62%.

Literary Arts
66 applications were received and out of them, 61 applications were processed. 44 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 20 applications (including 11 publications, 4 community arts promotion/ arts education, 2 research/ archiving/ critique project, 1 creative writing project, 1 translation project and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,671,000. The success rate is 33%.

Visual Arts
69 applications were received and out of them, 62 applications were processed. 23 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 22 applications (including 11 exhibitions, 5 research/ archival/ critique/ publication projects, 3 audience building projects and 3 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,966,300. The success rate is 35%.

Film and Media Arts
48 applications were received and processed. 13 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 12 applications (including 3 film production, 2 film audience building projects, 3 research/ archiving/ critique/ publication, 1 media arts creation, 2 media arts audience building projects and 1 media arts emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,932,700. The success rate is 25%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
9 applications were received and out of them, 8 applications were processed. 16 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 1 research/archiving, 1 arts education, 2 performances, 1 performance and exhibition and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,125,500. The success rate is 75%.

Cultural Exchange Grant
97 applications were received and out of them, 75 applications were processed. 7 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 56 applications were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $6,594,100.  The success rate is 75%.
