Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 1 July 2017 and 2 January 2018)

HKADC received 297 applications in this round of Project Grant application. Professionals in the arts field were invited to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications. In the end, HKADC provided 139 grants totaling $15,043,500, ranging in size from $10,800 to $500,000.  In general, the success rate is 47%. Below are the reports of various art forms.

Music
27 applications were received and out of them, 23 applications were processed. 16 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 11 applications (including 3 performances, 3 arts education and promotion, 1 research and 4 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,513,500. The success rate is 48%.

Dance
12 applications were received and out of them, 11 applications were processed. 10 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 3 performances, 2 arts education and promotion and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $996,300. The success rate is 55%.

Drama
23 applications were received and out of them, 18 applications were processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 4 performances, 1 community arts promotion and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,094,200. The success rate is 33%.

Xiqu
14 applications were received and out of them, 12 applications were processed. 6 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 9 applications (including 5 performances and 4 arts education and promotion applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,173,400. The success rate is 75%.

Literary Arts
57 applications were received and out of them, 53 applications were processed. 41 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 34 applications (including 27 publications, 4 community arts promotion / arts education, 1 creative writing, 1 translation and 1 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $1,473,800. The success rate is 64%.

Visual Arts
63 applications were received and out of them, 57 applications were processed. 24 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 21 applications (including 4 exhibitions, 5 publications, 1 community arts development, 1 arts education, 2 research/ archival/ critique projects and 8 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,127,700. The success rate is 37%.

Film and Media Arts
30 applications were received and out of them, 29 applications were processed. 20 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 12 applications (including 6 film production, 1 film arts promotion, 1 film arts education, 1 research / archival / critique / publication project, 1 media arts creation, 1 media arts promotion and 1 film emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $2,532,100. The success rate is 41%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
16 applications were received and out of them, 15 applications were processed. 16 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 4 applications (including 2 exhibition and performance projects, 1 arts education and 1 performance applications) were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $861,600. The success rate is 27%.

Cultural Exchange Grant
55 applications were received and out of them, 50 applications were processed. 9 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 36 applications were supported by HKADC with a total grant of $3,270,900. The success rate is 72%.
