Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 1 January 2013 and 2 July 2013)

HKADC received 256 project grant applications from 1 January 2013 to 2 July 2013, the grant amount sought is $29,755,645. HKADC invited professionals in the arts field to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications worth supporting through rigid adjudication procedures.  Below are the project grant adjudication reports of various artforms.

Music
28 music applications were received and out of them, 27 applications were processed. 18 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 11 applications (including 4 performance, 5 arts education and promotion, 1 general cultural exchange and 1 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $820,700. The success rate is 41%.

Dance
25 dance applications were received and out of them, 23 applications were processed.  18 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 9 applications (including 3 performance, 1 publication, 2 general cultural exchange and 3 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $804,400. The success rate is 39%.

Drama
44 drama applications were received and processed. 21 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 17 applications (including 3 performance, 2 general cultural exchange, 9 emerging artists scheme, 2 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao and 1 arts promotion applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,568,000. The success rate is 39%.

Xiqu
15 xiqu applications were received and out of them, 13 applications were processed. 13 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 9 applications (including 4 performance, 3 arts education and promotion and 2 publication project applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $858,900.The success rate is 69%.

Literary Arts
49 literary arts applications between 1 January 2013 and 2 July 2013 were received. Out of them, 45 applications were processed. 39 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications. In this round of applications, 43 applications belong to publication, the rest of applications include 1 creative writing and 1 arts education project.

In the end, a total of 22 applications were supported by the HKADC, including 19 publications, 2 emerging artists scheme and 1 arts education project. Over half of the grantees of the publication projects, including experienced writers, scholars and budding writers, have had their works previously published. The total grant amount is $718,000 with the success rate 49%.

Visual Arts
52 visual arts applications were received and out of them, 50 applications were processed. 21 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 25 applications were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,458,200. These supported applications include 2 emerging artists scheme and 1 cultural exchange among HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications.  The success rate is 50%.

Film and Media Arts
A total of 29 film and media arts applications were received in which 28 applications were processed, including 22 film and 6 media arts applications. 23 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 3 film production, 1 media arts production, 2 film community arts promotion, 1 media arts community promotion and 1 general cultural exchange project) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $2,045,900. The success rate is 29%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
14 applications belonging to cross/multi-disciplinary arts were received and out of them, 13 applications were processed. There were 20 examiners invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 3 performance applications were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $275,200. The success rate is 23%.
