Project Grant Adjudication Report
(For applications received between 4 July 2012 and 31 December 2012)

HKADC received 276 project grant applications from 4 July 2012 to 31 December 2012, the grant amount sought is $34,781,242. HKADC invited professionals in the arts field to be examiners to adjudicate and select applications worth supporting through rigid adjudication procedures.  Below are the project grant adjudication reports of various artforms.

Music
29 music applications were received and out of them, 28 applications were processed. 17 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 10 applications (including 5 performance, 3 arts education and promotion, 1 emerging artists scheme and 1 cultural exchange between HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $934,800. The success rate is 36%.

Dance
28 dance applications were received and processed. 18 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 9 applications (including 3 performance, 1 arts education and promotion, 1 publication, 1 general cultural exchange, 2 emerging artists scheme and 1 cultural exchange between HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $888,300. The success rate is 32%.

Drama
51 drama applications were received and processed. 16 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 13 applications (including 4 performance, 1 general cultural exchange, 6 emerging artists scheme and 2 cultural exchange between HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $961,000. The success rate is 25%.

Xiqu
17 Xiqu applications were received and processed. 5 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 8 applications (including 2 performance, 4 arts education, 1 arts promotion and 1 academic research project applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,012,000.The success rate is 47%.

Literary Arts
41 literary arts applications between 4 July 2012 and 31 December 2012 were received. Out of them, 40 applications were processed. 38 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications. In this round of applications, 30 applications belong to publication, the rest of applications include 4 creative writing, 1 arts education, 4 community arts promotion and 1 research / archival project.

In the end, a total of 24 applications were supported by the HKADC, including 16 publications, 2 emerging artists scheme, 2 creative writing and 4 arts education projects. Over half of the grantees of the publication projects, including experienced writers, scholars and budding writers, have had their works previously published. The total grant amount is $914,300 with the success rate 60%.

Visual Arts
73 visual arts applications were received and out of them, 70 applications were processed. 39 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 33 applications were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,626,700. These supported applications include 3 emerging artists scheme and 1 cultural exchange between HK, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao applications.  The success rate is 47%.

Film and Media Arts
A total of 18 film and media arts applications, including 12 film and 6 media arts applications, were received and processed in this round of applications.12 examiners were invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 1 film production, 1 media arts production, 1 film arts education, 1 film community arts promotion and 2 media arts community promotion projects) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $1,723,500. The success rate is 33%.

Cross/Multi-disciplinary Arts
19 applications belonging to cross/multi-disciplinary arts were received and processed. There were 22 examiners invited in the adjudication of the applications.

In the end, a total of 6 applications (including 1 general cultural exchange, 1 research / archival project, 2 arts education and promotion and 2 emerging artists scheme applications) were supported by the HKADC with a total grant of $389,400. The success rate is 32%.
