Hong Kong Scholarships on the International Leadership Program in Visual Arts Management 2018 Open for Application

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is launching the “Hong Kong Scholarships on the International Leadership Program in Visual Arts Management (ILPVAM) 2018” to support Hong Kong visual arts administrators or curators to join the said Programme.

The Programme, co-organised by the Deusto Business School (University of Deusto, Spain), NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (New York University, USA), and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Bilbao, Spain), is now open for application.

The ILPVAM combines advanced business theory and techniques together with the latest concepts and global trends in visual arts management and administration in order to develop participants’ understanding of current and future global trends affecting the industry, and sharpen their skills in the management of visual arts organisations. International networking among participants is also a key element of the Programme. Since its inception in 2013, the Programme has come to its fifth year. The ILPVAM 2018 is composed of two 5-day intensive modules. The first one will be held in Bilbao, Spain from 19 to 23 March 2018 while the second one in New York, the USA from 18 to 22 June 2018.

One or two scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship provides a maximum allowance of HK$90,000 which covers the tuition fee (EUR4,200 each) of the ILPVAM and subsistence allowance of approximately HK$48,000 for accommodation and flight tickets etc.

The said Programme is part of the Arts Administrators’ Training Programmes supported by the Home Affairs Bureau. The Programmes aim at offering overseas professional training programmes for local arts administrators or curators in order to nurture future arts and cultural professionals in Hong Kong and to meet the growing needs of arts talents.

Interested practitioners are advised to refer to the application guidelines and form. Both documents can now be obtained from the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) or downloaded from the HKADC website: www.hkadc.org.hk.
