Hong Kong Scholarship on the International Leadership Program in Visual Arts Management 2016 Open for Application

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is launching the “Hong Kong Scholarship on the International Leadership Program in Visual Arts Management (ILPVAM) 2016” to support Hong Kong visual arts administrators or curators to pursue the said Programme, co-organised by the Deusto Business School (University of Deusto, Spain), NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (New York University, USA), and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Bilbao, Spain). It is now open for application.

The ILPVAM combines advanced business theory and techniques together with the latest concepts and global trends in visual arts management and administration in order to develop participants’ understanding of current and future global trends affecting the industry, and sharpen skills in the management of visual arts organisations. International networking among participants is also a key element of the Programme. The Programme, which was launched in 2013, has come to the fourth year. The ILPVAM 2016 is composed of two 5-day intensive modules. The first one will be held in Bilbao, Spain from 7 to 11 November 2016 while the second one will be held in New York, the USA from 13 to 17 March 2017.

Up to two scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship is valued up to HK$90,000 which covers the tuition fee of the ILPVAM and subsistence allowance of approximately HK$42,000 for accommodation and flight tickets etc.

The said Programme is part of the Arts Administrators’ Training Projects which are supported by the Home Affairs Bureau. The Projects aim at offering overseas professional training programmes for local arts administrators or curators in order to nurture future arts and cultural professionals in Hong Kong and to meet the growing needs of arts talents.

Interested practitioners are advised to refer to the guidelines and form of application. Both documents can now be obtained from the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) or downloaded from the HKADC website: www.hkadc.org.hk.
