Hong Kong Fellowship at International Society for the Performing Arts 2019 Open for Application

Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates with the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) for the first time to launch a three-year “Hong Kong Fellowship at International Society for the Performing Arts 2019”. The Fellowship Programme supports local mid-career performing arts leaders to take part in the ISPA New York Congress and Seminar Day to enhance their professional knowledge and strengthen their international network. It is now open for application.

The Fellowship Programme will offer one fellowship opportunity for the awardee to participate in ISPA New York Congresses and Seminar Days tailor-made for international Fellows from 2019 to 2021 for three consecutive years. For each congress, ISPA invites prominent speakers from around the world to share the latest thinking and challenges in arts. The Fellows would be engaged in exchange of ideas with overseas counterparts, with a view to unleashing new thoughts and perspectives. The Congress and Seminar Day take place in every January, lasting for around 4 days each year. ISPA will pair up a member with each Fellow to facilitate his/her participation. The New York Congress held early this year attracted over 600 ISPA members and established performing arts professionals, including leaders from renowned performing arts organisations, venues and other cultural institutions.

The total value of the Fellowship is up to US$14,000 of which US$8,625 will be provided to cover the awardee’s three economy class return flight tickets from Hong Kong to New York (one ticket per year), accommodation, transportation and subsistence allowance during the Congress period.

The said Fellowship Programme is part of the Arts Administrators’ Training Programmes supported by the Home Affairs Bureau. The Programmes aim at offering overseas professional training for experienced arts administrators in order to nurture future arts and cultural professionals in Hong Kong and to meet the growing needs of arts talents.

Interested practitioners are advised to refer to the application guidelines which can be obtained from the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) or downloaded from the HKADC website: www.hkadc.org.hk. Applications must be submitted via the ISPA Online Application System (https://www.ispa.org/?page=fellow_hongkong) by 5:00pm on 10 August 2018 (Friday) (Hong Kong Time). Paper or late submission or submission by post, fax or email will not be processed.
