Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s (HKADC) new premises, located at the upper ground floor and 5th to 7th floors, 39 Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang, will hold its opening on 13 July. Facilities including arts studios, a multi-purpose exhibition hall called the SHOWCASE, an arts information centre, and the permanent administration office of HKADC, will gradually go into operation this year. To mark this important occasion, HKADC will present an opening exhibition and a series of fringe programmes at the SHOWCASE from 18 July to 1 October. Another series of performing arts programmes will be subsequently presented early next year.

Mr Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, JP, Chairman of HKADC, stated, "The completion and opening of the new premises mark a significant milestone for the Council. It represents that the Hong Kong Government is giving unwavering support to arts and culture, and there is an increasing popularity of arts and culture growing in the society. Since its establishment, the Council is dedicated to supporting the broad development of the arts in Hong Kong. With these new facilities and spaces opened for public visit and enjoyment, the Council is able to build a closer tie with the public and continue our work in promoting the growth of arts in Hong Kong.

By setting up our base in Wong Chuk Hang and offering the local arts community performance and exhibition spaces, the Council is hoping to provide the public with a more diverse range of cultural and artistic activities.
