Brand New Arts Space Project in Kwun Tong District Open for Leasing Application

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is pleased to announce that ADC Artspace (Po Shau Centre) is now open for leasing application by performing arts organisations from different disciplines.

Since the launch of “Space Sharing Scheme for Youth” under the Policy Address 2017, HKADC has worked closely with Home Affairs Bureau to identify suitable properties and liaise with the landlords concerned for the provision of creative spaces at a concessionary rate for local arts organisations. This premier project of HKADC under the said scheme would not have been made possible without the generous sponsorship of Prompt Trading Limited to lease space at concessionary rate to HKADC and the funding support of the Home Affairs Bureau on operation costs.

The first tenancy of this new project will last for two years and ten months, commencing in July 2018. The monthly rental for the first year is HK$8 per sq. ft. and the monthly management fee is HK$3 per sq. ft. HKADC will also provide fitting-out allowance for application by approved tenants of the project to carry out basic fitting-out of the hired units. Please refer to Annex for more details.

HKADC first launched the ADC Artspace (Genesis) in 2014 to provide creative arts space for the visual and media arts sectors. The project has been well received. Following the opening of ADC Artspace in Po Shau Centre as well as other arts space projects under planning, more and more arts practitioners will be benefitted.

Interested performing arts organisations can now obtain application guidelines and application form for ADC Artspace (Po Shau Centre) from the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) during office hours, or download these documents from HKADC’s website: www.hkadc.org.hk. Completed application (including application form, supplementary information and all supporting documents) must be deposited into the collection box located at the above address by 6:00pm on 14 May 2018 (Monday) the latest. Please mark “ADC Artspace (Po Shau Centre) – First Term Tenancy Application” on the envelope. Applications submitted by post will only be accepted if postmarked no later than the deadline. Submission by courier will only be accepted if the pick-up date shown on the courier’s order form is no later than the deadline. ADC Artspace (Po Shau Centre)

-Address: Various floors of Po Shau Building, 115 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong

-It provides three performing arts studios, which are:

Unit C-D on 5/F (Gross Floor Area of around 1,309 sq. ft.)

Unit D-E on 6/F (Gross Floor Area of around 1,412 sq. ft.)

Unit C-E on 17/F (Gross Floor Area of around 2,037 sq. ft.)

-Term: Two years and ten months (from 23 July 2018 to 22 May 2021)

-Monthly Rent: HK$8 per sq. ft. (from 23 July 2018 to 30 April 2020); HK$8.8 per sq. ft. (from 1 May 2020 to 22 May 2021)

-Monthly Management Fee: Currently HK$3 per sq. ft.

-Fitting-out Allowance: HK$300,000 (maximum) per studio. Approved related expenses can be reimbursed.
