Following the success of the Mobile Art Gallery held last year, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) joins hands with the Art Promotion Office (APO) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, New World First Ferry Services Ltd (First Ferry) and New World First Bus Services Ltd (First Bus) again to launch a partnership project: Gallery Ferry. A kick-off cum award presentation ceremony was held on 12 July to mark the opening of the exhibition.

With the theme of "A Dynamic City", the competition receives over 60 submissions. Three sets of installation artworks and 40 pieces of two-dimensional artworks are selected from 22 artists. The installation artworks are showcased in the VIP Lounges of 3 New World First Ferry's ferries (Xin Chao, Xin Fei and Xin Guo) from 12 July to 11 August. The ferries provide services between Central and Cheung Chau*. The two-dimensional artworks are displayed in First Ferry Pier 5 in Central for 6 months until 11 January 2004.

Mr Darwin Chen, Chairman of the ADC, Ms Choi Suk-kuen, Deputy Director of Leisure and Cultural Services (Culture) and Mr John Hui, Director & General Manager of First Ferry officiated the ceremony and presented prizes to the selected artists.
