The Dance Education Conference 2001 was successfully held on 12 May 2001 at the Academy for the Performing Arts (APA). The conference aims at providing an opportunity for school teachers and dance educators to meet and share ideas and experiences on dance education in schools, and providing reference materials and models of teaching dance in schools.

With the venue and equipment support of the APA, the Dance Education Conference 2001 was hosted by the Dance Committee of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), and co-organised by the Education Department, the School of Dance of APA and the Hong Kong Sectors Joint Conference.
