To arouse public awareness on the importance of arts education, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in collaboration with the Hong Kong Heritage Museum organised a two-day exposition on arts education from 30 November to 1 December at the Heritage Museum, attracting a total attendance of 6,700 visitors.
During the two-day event, 41 schools and arts organisations took part and set up a range of thematic booths to showcase their achievements in arts education. Booths were decorated with the students' creations such as traditional Chinese masks, multi-media work, paintings and ceramics. Props such as giant plastic bottle and eraser (put up by the students) were found wandering around the venue. Workshops such as dyeing and mask making were organised for public participation. Among some 30 booths, the one by Tin Ka Ping Secondary School won the Best Booth Design Award.
Besides an array of exhibitions, a range of performances by students and artists was staged. These include modern dance, xiqu, drama and marching band performance.
