Arts in Government Building Scheme (2001)

Appreciating the beauty of local visual arts in the hub of a city? Starting from 30 March, you now have the chance to view an array of visual arts presentations by visiting the "Arts in Government Building Scheme" at Deck Floor, Queensway Government Offices.

This year, with the assistance of Home Affairs Bureau and Government Property Agency, the HKADC will again bring to the public this exhibition at the Queensway Government Offices. With the extension of the opening hours to Sundays and public holidays, the presentation will provide the public a great and relaxing leisure experience.

A total of 7 exhibitions will be presented from March to September. Types of arts presented include multi-media presentations, Chinese painting and calligraphy, children's artwork, and Western painting.

- A showcase of watercolour painting, Chinese painting and graphic arts by the youth of both Hong Kong and China.

12/05 - 31/05 Cheung Ho-Keung Blue Print "Focus" - Using mixed arts media to demonstrate the creativity of the artist.
02/06 - 16/06 Wai King-man "Fishing Villages in Hong Kong" Series - Wai King Man Art Exhibition
- Using different arts media such as oil and watercolour painting to present the "face" of fishing villages in Hong Kong.
14/07 - 02/08 Hong Kong New Artist Society

Contemporary Art Image 2001 - Hong Kong New Artist Society Painting Exhibition
- Exhibits include oil painting, graphic art, watercolour and Chinese painting.

04/08 - 23/08 Lee Ching-wan, Lanza The Exhibition of Lee Ching Wan's Classical Chinese Paintings
25/08 - 06/09 Yuen Nim-chi Illusions through Pink Spectacles
- The work, mainly comprising oil painting, depicts how the artist sees the world through a colourful, illusory pair of spectacles.

To attract greater public participation, a voting entitled "My Favourite Exhition" is held concurrently to select a most popular exhition. Enrolment is easy. Simply fill in the form provided and drop into the ballot box at the reception of the exhibition area before 6:00 p.m. on 7 Setember, 2001 (Friday). The HKADC will draw one lucky winner from the exhibition with the highest votes. The winner will receive an exquisite art souvenir.
