Kick-off Ceremony cum Award Presentation of "Mobile Art Gallery"

Ms Choi Sui-kuen, Mr Philip Harper and distinguished guests:

It gives us great pleasure to join hands with the Art Promotion Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and New World First Bus Services Limited in organizing the Mobile Art Gallery.

The Mobile Art Gallery carries passengers to every corner of Hong Kong and, at the same time, allows them during the bus-ride to appreciate the work of local artists. It is an innovative project that is able to bring arts into different communities and shorten the distance between arts and the public. That is what we have long aimed for - attracting support from different sectors of the community to promote arts development in Hong Kong.

Since the launch of our Three-Year Plan, we are dedicated to establish strategic partnerships with different organizations such as government departments, private enterprises, public bodies, social services organizations, schools and media for the betterment of the local arts scene. The present project represents a concrete realization of our mission.

On this occasion, I am delighted to have LCSD and First Bus as our partners. I hope this would set an example for other organizations to follow suit and work hand in hand with us to create a stimulating environment for the betterment of the local art sector.
