The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) calls for applications for the Project Grant 2008 (Phase One). Submission deadline is 6:30pm on 30 June 2008 (Monday).

Project Grant is introduced to support local arts practitioners and arts groups to engage in different arts pursuits. With an aim to promote the diverse development of the local arts scene, the scheme supports a wide range of activities including performances, exhibitions, publications, educational activities, community/promotion projects, creation of artworks, research/archival works, arts criticism, training, seminars/conference/talks, cultural exchange, film and media production, and artist-in-residence programme, etc. Application for Project Grant is made twice a year.

To strengthen support to emerging artists and to promote cultural exchange between local and mainland arts sector, the "Grant for Emerging Artists" and grant for "Cultural Exchange between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta" are introduced under the umbrella of Project Grant.

"Grant for Emerging Artists" aims to provide opportunities for young arts practitioners to engage in activities such as performances, exhibitions, publications or creating and presenting new artistic works, which enabling them to gain valuable experience for their arts careers. Emerging young arts practitioners with potentials and commitment in launching professional careers and have mastered the recognised level of techniques in their own art forms are eligible to apply. Applicants should have never received any grant from the ADC. Grant amount for this scheme ranges from HK$10,000 to HK$30,000.

Grant on "Cultural Exchange between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta" is introduced to strengthen cultural exchange between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta (PRD) Region. Local arts groups and arts practitioners are encouraged to take a more active role in participating exchange projects such as openly ticketed performance/ touring, exhibition and arts festival held in the PRD. Maximum grant amount for each approved project is HK$150,000.

Applications for the above grants will close at 6:30pm on 30 June 2008 (Monday). Interested parties are invited to submit the applications as early as possible. Applications should be sent to ADC's new office address on 14/F, East Warwick House, Taikoo Place, 979 King's Road, Hong Kong.
