The ADC has been supporting the development of literary arts in Hong Kong mainly through publication projects, in addition to various subsidy schemes that promote research and archival, arts education, promotion and development of readership for literary arts. The Literary Arts Group (LAG) of the ADC is now organising a consultation meeting for the community to express their views on various areas.

Funded by the Home Affairs Bureau, the ADC, in collaboration with the British Council and The Sage Gateshead, is pleased to launch for the first time The Sage Gateshead Internship Programme. The Programme aims at nurturing aspired local arts practitioners. Application is now open till 6:30pm, 7 December 2009.

Fresh Wave 2010 - Local Competition Section, a short film making contest organized by the ADC is officially open. A press conference is held 8 January 2010 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre to announce its details and introduce the shortlisted candidates. Fresh Wave 2010 is composed of two major events, namely the Local Competition Section and the International Short Film Festival. The Local Competition Section, formerly known as "The 5th Fresh Wave Short Film Competition", was first introduced in 2005, with an aim to nurture local young talents in film making and to provide them with a platform to create and showcase their works.
