ADC Announces the Clore Scholarship's Result

22.07.2009

With funding support from the Home Affairs Bureau (HAB), the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC), in collaboration with Clore Leadership Programme (CLP), launched the "Clore Leadership Programme – Hong Kong Scholarship 2009/10" in February with an aim to nurture local creative talents.
After rounds of scrupulous selection, Ms Margaret Yang, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, is awarded the "Clore Leadership Programme – Hong Kong Scholarship 2009/10". Together with 22 Fellows of the CLP, Ms Yang will participate in an intensive leadership training programme for 4 weeks and also spend some on secondment with cultural organisations in the UK between September 2009 and July 2010.
Ms Yang received her bachelor degree in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and pursued further education in Arts Administration in London and Law at Cambridge. She worked as a solicitor at Lovells after having worked in local arts organisations including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Arts Festival. Ms Yang has been CEO of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta since 1999.
This year is the debut launch of the Clore Scholarship in Hong Kong. The HAB and ADC are planning to offer the Scholarship annually, while simultaneously exploring the possibilities to rollout similar scholarships and training schemes that are instrumental to developing arts and cultural leaders in Hong Kong in view of the growing needs of our community.
