Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is launching two arts administration scholarship schemes, namely “Local Arts Administration Scholarships 2021” and “Overseas & Mainland Arts Administration Scholarships 2021”, to support promising local arts administrators to further their studies in Hong Kong, the Mainland and abroad in order to strengthen their professionalism. Both schemes are financially supported by the Home Affairs Bureau.
Local Arts Administration Scholarships 2021
Intended Courses and Institutions
Intended to support local arts administrators who possess related work experiences, to advance their professional practice by undertaking arts administration related master courses/professional programmes* or business administration related professional programmes* at local universities or tertiary institutions. The intended study programme to be undertaken must commence within the period from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022.
Applicant should submit their applications to HKADC and the higher education institution respectively for application of scholarships and programme admission. The selected applicant will need to fulfill all admission procedures of his/her chosen institution and be offered place subsequently.
Scholarship Value
Each Scholarship will cover the tuition fees of the chosen programme with a maximum amount of HK$90,000 and estimated five local scholarships will be awarded.
*The intended professional study programme must be one-year or longer in duration
Overseas & Mainland Arts Administration Scholarships 2021
Intended Courses and Institutions
Intended to support local arts administrators who wish to pursue taught master courses in relation to arts administration at accredited institutions in the Mainland or overseas. The intended study programmes have to be commenced within the period of 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.
Applicant is allowed to lay down a maximum of three course choices. It is the applicant’s responsibility to secure admissions to the intended courses in his/her application. At the time when HKADC offers scholarships, the selected applicant should have secured admission to at least one of his/her three choices of courses unconditionally.
Scholarship Value
Each scholarship mainly covers a round-trip economy class flight ticket, subsistence allowance and tuition fee etc. with a maximum amount of up to HK$450,000. The granted amount of each scholarship will be different and is subject to tuition fee and living allowance of the studying region/country of each selected applicant. Estimated four overseas scholarships will be awarded.

Interested practitioners are advised to refer to the guidelines and application form available on this page. Applicant must submit and deposit the duly completed application in the collection box at the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) or email to ts_submission@hkadc.org.hk by 6:00pm on 5 February 2021 (Friday), Hong Kong time the latest. Applications submitted by post must be postmarked on or before the deadline. Please submit the applications via one of the above channels and do not submit in duplicate. Late submission or submission via fax and digital means other than email will not be processed.
