Continuing Education Subsidy Scheme for Arts Education Practitioners – Open for Application

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (“HKADC”) hereby invites application for Continuing Education Subsidy Scheme for Arts Education Practitioners (the “Scheme”). The Scheme aims to promote the professional training of arts educators by providing subsidy for current teachers and arts educators to pursue continuing education. The Scheme serves to promote the development of arts education in the long run by enhancing the educators’ knowledge and skills in arts, and their teaching abilities.

The Scheme supports current kindergarten, primary and secondary school teachers or part-time/full-time artists/arts practitioners currently employed by schools to study short-term courses related to arts or arts education organised/co-organised by the following institutions:

(i) Local or overseas tertiary institutions;
(ii) Institutions or schools of continuing education affiliated with local or overseas tertiary institutions;
(iii) Established local or overseas arts institutions/groups.

Course format can be taught programme and online distance learning course. The course must commence between 1 February and 31 July 2020 and should not exceed 24 weeks in length.

The maximum subsidy for each applicant is HK$5,000 on one course only, with the subsidy to be used only for the entire or partial portion of the tuition fee. The subsidy is disbursed on a reimbursement basis.

Both documents can now be obtained from the HKADC Administration Office (10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong) or downloaded from the HKADC website. Applications must be submitted and deposited in the collection box at the HKADC Administration Office by 6:00pm on 25 October 2019 (Friday). The envelope should be marked “Continuing Education Subsidy Scheme for Arts Education Practitioners”. Applications submitted by post must be postmarked on or before the deadline. Late submission or submission by fax, email or other electronic means will not be processed. Please note the HKADC will not process the application and its related documents with insufficient postage and pay for the relevant postage. Submission by courier is also accepted if the pickup date shown on the bill issued by the courier service provider is on or before the deadline.
