The “Arts-in-School Partnership Scheme” invites interested arts groups/organisations and all primary, secondary and special schools in Hong Kong to submit their applications respectively. HKADC will match the arts groups/organisations with the schools according to their respective applications, including the arts groups’ proposed usage, location preference and the schools’ requests etc.
Partnering arts groups/organisations will be provided a subsidy to hire the facilities of partnering schools during non-school hours, weekends and school holidays for no less than 310 hours per year (suggested to have at least two three-hour sessions per week). Partnering schools will provide basic administrative and operational support as well as storage space for the arts groups/organisations. The Scheme encourages partnering arts groups/organisations to engage students of its partnering school in arts programmes and activities at different stages, e.g. creation, production, rehearsals, guided appreciation etc., to broaden students’ horizon. The embracement of elements engaging the community is appreciated.
Successful matched partners will receive subsidies covering cost of hire, arts activities, and an allowance for school based on the actual costs of all expenditure items.
Through the implementation of the Scheme, the HKADC would like to achieve the following objectives:
|-||Optimising usage of school premises and facilities during non-school hours, weekends and school holidays while at the same time, addressing the demand for arts space and rehearsal venues of the arts sector; the Scheme will facilitate school operators to open their premises and facilities for partnering arts groups/organisations to organise arts activities such as rehearsals, arts classes, arts workshops etc.;|
