| Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) invites applications from arts professionals in music, dance, xiqu, drama, literary arts, visual arts, film and media arts to be HKADC examiners. Professionals in the abovementioned arts fields with good knowledge in arts administration, arts criticism and arts education are also welcome to apply. HKADC will select suitable applicants to be its examiners whose duties will include adjudication of applications and assessment of projects supported by HKADC. Interested parties can obtain the “Examiners” application form and introductory brief from the HKADC Administration Office at 10/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong during office hours, or download them from the HKADC’s website (http://www.hkadc.org.hk). Completed applications must be submitted by hand or by post to the above address by 6p.m. on 15 November 2019 (Friday). Please mark “Examiners Recruitment” on the envelope.

| Riding on last year’s success of leading a delegation of Hong Kong musicians, composers and producers to attend Classical:NEXT held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) has once again led 9 Hong Kong delegates to participate in Classical:NEXT 2019 during 15 to 18 May this year. The Hong Kong delegates actively participated in a wide range of events and exchanged ideas with international peers from 45 different countries at Classical:NEXT. One of the delegates Louis Siu, Artistic Director of Toolbox Percussion shared that one of the workshops he attended provided him with practical information on contract law and working visas application which helped him to handle the challenges faced by his ensemble during overseas touring. Another delegate, Sheeta Ng, Director of NSW Arts Company, shared that she gained inspiration on her future work direction from one of the music education related conference.

| Committed to facilitating cultural exchange and promoting outstanding original Hong Kong works, Hong Kong Arts Development Council has supported many Hong Kong arts groups to present their productions in Mainland China in recent years. This issue of Artnews sees some of these arts groups share their experience in performing at the Meet in Beijing Arts Festival 2018 and the 1862 Theater in Shanghai. This issue also covers the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2017, Arts Ambassadors-in-School Finale Party and Cultural Exchange Tour to Henan, Classical:NEXT 2018 Music Expo, the 16th International Architecture Exhibition Hong Kong Exhibition, as well as interview with set designer Tsang Man-tung.

| To support local dance professionals to establish an international network, explore overseas performing opportunities and accumulate experience in overseas promotion, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) led a Hong Kong delegation to attend one of the largest professional dance biennial gatherings, the internationale tanzmesse nrw (Tanzmesse), in 2016. Following the success in 2016, HKADC in collaboration with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) led a delegation of 50 dance practitioners to participate in Tanzmesse again from 29 August to 1 September 2018, showcasing the diversity and dynamics of Hong Kong’s contemporary dance scene.

| To support local artists in developing overseas markets and international network, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) organised the first-ever Hong Kong delegation by subsidising 10 Hong Kong musicians/composers/producers to attend Classical:NEXT held on 16-19 May 2018 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
