There were 1,313 local visual arts exhibitions in 2015/16*. Excluding permanent exhibitions, there were 1,301 exhibitions in 2015/16, a drop of around 6% from the year before. The number of Painting exhibitions decreased in 2014/15 and rebounded in 2015/16. The number of exhibitions for Ceramics and Antiquities both increased to a five-year high in 2015/16.
Excluding permanent exhibitions, the cumulative exhibition days of visual arts exhibitions were 33,227 days. The number of exhibition days was 26 days in average, an increase of 4% from 2014/15. The average exhibition days for Painting, Photography, Mixed Media & Installation, Design, and New Media Art increased and were the highest within the past 5 years.
