With the theme “Where Do the Arts Lead Us?”, the 3rd International Arts Leadership Roundtable (the Roundtable) was held from 29 to 30 November 2017 at Chiang Chen Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, gathering around 20 arts leaders from overseas and local arts institutions/ organisations to share their professional insights and experiences in different regions, discuss the global trends and issues in arts development, and formulate relevant strategies to cope with future challenges. This year’s Roundtable was also held concurrently with the Asia Cultural Cooperation Forum 2017, organised by the Home Affairs Bureau, to foster regional cooperation and development in arts and culture.
The Roundtable consisted of 3 plenary sessions during which overseas and local arts leaders were invited to share their views and experiences on a variety of relevant topics. Afterwards, the Closing Discussion was held to conclude the conference with four local arts experts had deeper discussions from a Hong Kong perspective on supporting arts development. Around 200 overseas and local arts organisations’ representatives participated in the conference.
